Executive Leadership Team

Stability Health is the product of a team of passionate professionals with decades of experience in the industry. Read more about each of our personal connections to the mission of Stability Health.

Mike Aspinwall, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder

For 30 years, Mike has helped build and grow innovative healthcare services companies, including Vantage Oncology, Bravo Health, and Paradigm Health, as a hands-on investor and executive. Before co-founding Stability Health, Mike was a managing partner with responsibility for all healthcare investing at CCP Equity Partners, and co-head of the healthcare sector at GE Equity. In these two positions, he successfully invested over $170 million in over a dozen companies.

Mike's dad lived with type 1 diabetes for 60 years, and this has motivated him to start Stability Health. Through this first-hand experience he saw both the challenges and successes that come with managing diabetes proactively

Dave Harlan, President and Chief Medical Officer and Co-founder

As an American Board of Internal Medicine certified endocrinologist, Dave has spent his 39-year professional career practicing and promoting innovative care for people with diabetes in various capacities. He received his medical training at Duke and then spent the first 30 years in the US Navy, and later, the US Public Health Service, attaining the rank of Captain in both. Since 2010, he has served as Co-Director of the University of Massachusetts Medical School/UMass Memorial Health Care (UMMS/UMMHC) Diabetes Center of Excellence. While assigned at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Dave conducted internationally-recognized efforts exploring transplantation-based therapies for diabetes, among other things.

His motivation for co-founding Stability Health is rooted in his steadfast belief that the standard of diabetes care could be, and should be, improved dramatically.

Tom Rekart, Chief Operating Officer

Tom has worn many hats over the course of his 40 year career in healthcare—whether as a payer, provider, or technology enabler. Harnessing his passion for positively impacting people and their health, he has held leadership positions both in the technology and operations side of healthcare for prestigious companies including UnitedHealth Group, Humana, Bravo Health, Vantage Oncology, and others. He has deep expertise and a passion for developing data analytics and processes to find ways to improve clinical, operational, and financial outcomes.

His decision to join and build Stability Health is a personal one, inspired by his 5-year-old grandson living with Type 1 diabetes.

Mark Ahern, Chief Development Officer

Mark is a proven industry leader in building early-stage healthcare companies by developing and executing revenue growth plans to build best-in-class healthcare organizations. He is known for working effectively with CEOs, key stakeholders, and boards to define and create growth initiatives, strategic alignments, and successful exit strategies. Most recently, Mark was the Chief Development Officer at US Oncology McKesson, where he led their business development efforts. Prior to McKesson, Mark led all aspects of business development for Vantage Oncology prior to its sale to McKesson.

Mark joined the Stability Health team due to his professional desire to develop and build a new model supporting coordinated chronic care management, and his personal motivation to make a difference for people with diabetes—including within his own family.
